Competition Rules
Club competitions foster the development of skills of individual photographers and are an important part of belonging to the Queenstown Photography Club.
Our competition rules and points system ensures our members continue to grow their photography skills and progress through a recognised system of grading used widely through out New Zealand camera and photography clubs.
In choosing competition images, the photographer needs to provide an image relevant to the competition theme, ensure the image tells a story, will hold the viewers interest, draws the viewers eye to what the photographer sees in the image and at the same time demonstrate the skill level of the photographer.
The competition offers a fun and rewarding forum for members actively engaged in their photography and the images submitted to competitions are representative of a member’s current level of proficiency in the art of photography.
The member grading encourages participation and success – so hard work will see members achieve grade level promotions.
